Sigma Pro at EcoExpo Central Asia 2026 — Samarkand

The scale of the event

Organized by Uzbekistan's National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change alongside Business Congress Management (BCM), the exhibition united environmental leaders, investors, scientists, and diplomats from over 100 countries. Around 10,000 participants, more than 68 thematic pavilions, over 50 panel discussions and forums — and approximately 200 cooperation memoranda expected to be signed.

The context made the event even more significant: EcoExpo ran in parallel with the 8th Assembly of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) — the organization's highest governing body, bringing together 186 member countries and convening once every four years. For three days in June, Samarkand became the world's green capital.

What we saw

The exhibition covered all key sustainability themes: green energy, water-saving and clean technologies, AI in environmental management, sustainable agriculture, green construction and smart cities, waste management, and the ecology of the Aral Sea region. A dedicated zone of 20 startup pavilions showcased eco-innovations from Uzbekistan and across Central Asia.

Particularly impressive was Uzbekistan's ambitious environmental program — including the national "Yashil Makon" greening initiative and the unprecedented afforestation of over 2 million hectares of the dried Aral Sea bed, a project holding back salt and protecting air quality on a planetary scale.
