Uzbekistan Water Infrastructure Automation Programme

On 12 August 2025, the President of Uzbekistan approved the Water Resources Management and Irrigation Sector Development Programme for 2025–2028, aimed at improving the efficiency of water reserve management and developing the irrigation industry. The state initiative combines technical innovation, energy efficiency objectives, and the digital transformation of the entire water management infrastructure.

    By 2028, the country plans to comprehensively upgrade key segments of the sector:
  • modernise thousands of kilometres of irrigation networks;
  • replace outdated pumps at pumping stations;
  • introduce new water-saving methods — such as drip irrigation and other modern irrigation types;
  • automate control systems at major hydraulic structures and pumping stations — including SCADA and ACS process control;
  • consolidate sector analytics and operational data on a unified digital platform for transparent management.

The government is paying particular attention to water management digitalisation: automation systems that reduce the human factor are being deployed, and water usage analytics are becoming available in real time. This is expected to save not only resources but also budget funds, while improving environmental safety.

SIGMA PRO has extensive experience delivering comprehensive automation and digitalisation projects for water management facilities in Uzbekistan and is ready to provide integrated solutions for projects in this area. In particular, the company has already participated in automation projects for the head regulator of the North Fergana Canal, the South Golodnaya Steppe hydraulic structure, and the Kuiganyor hydraulic structure. Through the implementation of SCADA-based dispatching and automation systems, remote monitoring, control, and analysis of technological processes were successfully achieved.

"Automation and digitalisation are the key requirements for a modern water management sector. SIGMA PRO is ready to offer integrated solutions in support of national objectives — our accumulated experience enables high-quality delivery of automation projects of any complexity," the company's representatives noted.
