Facility
Dispatch and automation system for the structure node at PK145 of the South Golodnaya Steppe Canal (D&A SN at PK145 SGSC)
Project overview
SIGMA PRO specialists completed the development and launch of an automated operational dispatch control system (AODCS/SCADA) for the head structures at the PK145 section of the South Golodnaya Steppe Canal. The project aims to digitalize water resource management and improve the reliability of the hydraulic node.
The system covers five water distribution points: the SGSC main regulator and four diverting canals — each equipped with a head regulator and a calibrated gauging station. In total, 20 hydraulic gates are under remote control.
Tasks addressed
- ✓Control of water supply to the SGSC at the calibrated gauging station and based on calculated flow values through opening the gates of the left and right SGSC regulators;
- ✓Monitoring water levels and flows at the calibrated gauging stations of all four diverting canals in real time;
- ✓Remote control of 20 hydraulic gates of the regulators — from the dispatch room without sending staff to the site;
- ✓Monitoring water conductivity in the SGSC as an indirect quality indicator — automatic alerting of abnormal values;
- ✓Monitoring the water level in the SGSC supply channel (upper pool);
- ✓Archiving of technological parameters: water levels, flows at gauging stations, conductivity and temperature of water in the Naryn River, gate positions relative to the structure threshold;
- ✓Transmission of operational data to the Syrdarya BWO CDP (Tashkent) and the central dispatch center of GUGiKD (Gulistan).
Technical specifications
- ✓System type: distributed control system based on industrial PLCs;
- ✓Interface: SCADA system with web client support;
- ✓Controlled gates: 20 hydraulic gates;
- ✓Monitoring points: 5 (1 main + 4 diverting gauging stations);
- ✓Communication channel with CDP: mobile operators' GPRS;
- ✓Data transmission addresses: Syrdarya BWO CDP (Tashkent) + GUGiKD (Gulistan).
Implementation effect
Safety
eliminating the human factor in emergency situations — the system responds automatically
Resource savings
optimization of equipment operating modes and reduction of non-target water losses
Transparency
water consumption data is available to supervisory authorities and operational services in real time
Unified network
the facility is integrated into the overall Syrdarya BWO dispatch network — controlled from Tashkent and Gulistan
